The fact of the breach became public on November 30, 2018 but may have originated in 2014. Marriott alleges that they became aware of the breach on September 8, 2018.

This proposed class action is brought against Marriott International Inc. and Luxury Hotels International of Canada ULC for, amongst other things, breach of privacy, breach of contract and negligence.
