Benjamin Hantsis
Benjamin is a summer student at the firm. He is entering his third year at both the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and Detroit Mercy School of Law.
During his time in law school, he acted as a Student Attorney and Advanced Student Attorney and Supervisor for the International Intellectual Property Law Patent Clinic, an editor for the Windsor Law Review, and VP of Operations for the Jewish Students Association (JSA).
Benjamin has substantial mooting and advocacy experience while in law school. He has been involved in nine moot competitions, including the Donald G.H. Bowman Tax Moot and Zuber. For his third year in law school, Benjamin has been hired as a Teaching Assistant for both Torts, a second-year course and Transactional Drafting, an advanced upper-year writing course. He will continue on the executive committee as Treasurer for the JSA and continue mooting. Most recently, he received the 2022 CALI Excellence for the Future Award.
Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from York University, where he was a Research Assistant for both York University and The Minerva Centre for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Faculty of Law. He has written policy papers on various topics ranging from net neutrality, data privacy and the broadcasting industry. He has also been a volunteer for a non-profit organization for over two years to date. While his interests grow, he has a keen interest in corporate/commercial litigation, insurance, business disputes, professional misconduct, and other litigation matters.
Benjamin spends his free time sailing competitively, running, and cooking. He is currently training to run a marathon.
